For one Those are my main picks for my current upgrade that I'm looking to do. I'd like to know if the motherboard is a good pick? Other components that I plan on bringing over are my two hard drives I know I'm upgrading from an OEM HP computer, so the primary hard drive will need to be reformatted Thing is, while it does have a wireless expansion card, I'd like Asus P9X79 DELUXE Marvell MSU motherboard to support wireless connectivity before hand, and even then, USB 3. Will I run into compatibility issues at all with this set-up?
Also to note, if the motherboard is good or if a different one is Asus P9X79 DELUXE Marvell MSUand I expand the RAM to add more that's closer to 16GB, but don't take into account memory access rates, will I run into issues having slower RAM mixed in with higher speed RAM?
Hello, I realize that what I now have is 2 separate problems, however, they both occurred from the same short string of events, namely updating my BIOS in order to upgrade the CPU, and so I'm posting the event as 1. That said here it is. After updating the BIOS there are now 2 problems.
When the desktop came up, NVidia control panel reported Gen3 also. Neither was my boot drive and neither was on the main SATA terminal.
It wouldn't run on GEN3. I have since tried both BIOS revisions again, and have cleared the cmos, both with the cmos clear button, and using the actual jumper. Neither will now accept GEN3.
I have tried removing and replacing the GPUs. Under the North Bridge settings there is a sub menu for IOH configuration that lets you choose slot multiplier x4x4, x8, x16 and so on as well as the Gen.
Under the PCI configuration settings you can only alter the Gen target link state. Try a lot of things but to no avail until I found this forum discusing the freezes using SSD. Its the IntelRapid Storage. Voila, no more freezing, better benches and beleive me or not, it finaly wakes up from sleep mode, even days in sleep with no problems.

Granted i just got this mobo and while it shipped with publicly not available i immediatly flashed it to It was much later i stumbled upon the sleep bug. Already tried most mentioned workarounds. No more boot freezes but voltage droop seems to have increased a bit.
Improve system stability. Enhance compatibility with some USB devices. Support new CPUs.
